Training Sessions on Health and Nutrition with Prerak and Prerikas (Volunteers)

AROEHAN’s objective is to reduce malnutrition deaths by creating awareness about health and nutrition. We design and implement training programs for volunteers and frontline health workers.

The objective of the training program was to inform the participants about the nutrition available in a balanced diet. The elements of food such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, and vitamins should be included in everyday meals. We emphasized including the local vegetables and herbs in the diet for a healthy body and holistic development of an individual.

Detailed discussion on growth and development of a baby, exclusive breastfeeding, complementary feeding along with the breastfeeding and stages of child’s growth after birth.

Personal hygiene while feeding and child care. The session continued with the elaborated discussion on Anemia, its symptoms, the importance of Hb during pregnancy, and maintaining the levels of Hb through an iron-rich diet and supplementary IFS tablets.

The program continued with the importance of education and in the holistic development of an individual and community. Views were exchanged on decision-making and leadership skill development.
